Ohio Lead Free Kids Coalition Comments on Proposed ODH Rules on Lead Screening & Assessments

The OLFKC recently provided written public comments on the Ohio Department of Health’s proposed amendments to their child lead screening and assessment regulations. While we applaud ODH for taking action to address lead poisoning in our state, we stand by the fact that there is no safe level of lead in the blood. As such, ODH needs to clarify their language so that all families have access to necessary resources and supports should their child be exposed to lead in order to prevent further harm. We look forward to further opportunity to comment and work with ODH to ensure these rules reflect these principles.
