OLKFC Submits Letter to Governor’s Office in Response to COVID-19

Once the full extent of the state shutdown due to COVID-19 became clear and the Lead Advisory Committee meetings were postponed, OLKFC Co-Chairs Patricia Barnes and Gabriella Celeste submitted a letter to Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton and LeeAnne Cornyn, Director of Children's Initiatives at the Office of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, urging the Governor to institute a six-month extension to the Lead Advisory Committee in order to allow for full consideration of some of the items still yet to be discussed in detail. They pressed for the resumption of Committee meetings electronically and a continuation of the robust discussion of draft recommendations so they may truly reflect the committee's priorities.
